1.5. About Standalone Servers
A standalone server is one of two operating modes for the JBoss EAP. A standalone server mode is an independent process and is analogous to the only running mode of previous versions of the JBoss EAP.
A JBoss EAP instance running as a standalone server is a single instance only, but can optionally run in a clustered configuration.
