Service Telemetry Framework Life Cycle
Overview
Service Telemetry Framework (STF) provides automated collection of measurements and data from remote clients – Red Hat OpenStack Platform (OSP) or third-party nodes – and transmission of that information to a centralized, receiving Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) deployment for storage, retrieval, and monitoring.
STF is deprecated from full support and moves to maintenance support. At the end of the support lifecycle for Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) 17.1, STF moves to Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS). During the maintenance support lifecycle, Red Hat will not add new features to STF 1.5. Red Hat will continue to rebase and release STF onto Extended Update Support (EUS) versions of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as they become available during the lifecycle of RHOSP 17.1. Red Hat continues to address critical STF bugs and CVEs. Product Life Cycle
The following is the list of Service Telemetry Framework (STF) version supported with Red Hat OpenStack Platform (OSP) and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
Full Support:
During the Production Phase, qualified Critical and Important Security Advisories (RHSAs) and urgent and selected High Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs) will be released as they become available. Other errata advisories may be delivered as appropriate.
If available, select enhanced software functionality may be provided at the discretion of Red Hat.
Maintenance releases will also include available and qualified errata advisories (RHSAs, RHBAs, and RHEAs). Maintenance releases are cumulative and include the contents of previously released updates. The focus for minor releases during this phase lies on resolving defects of medium or higher priority.
In addition, and only during Full Support:
- Customers and Partners have the ability to request new features which are introduced upstream to be selectively backported, pending the review of Red Hat Product Management and Engineering, until the end of this phase
- The installer components may be updated until the end of this phase
- Partner may introduce new plugins to be certified with the version until the end of this phase
Maintenance Support:
Same as Full Support, excluding:
- Introduction of new features through backports
- No patches or CVEs
- Introduction of additional partner plugins
