How to self-solve and find solutions

8 mins

When issues arise that you want to solve yourself, there are many Red Hat Customer Portal tools available to help.

Red Hat Knowledgebase

The Red Hat Knowledgebase is a collection of rich content aimed at helping you make the most of your products and technologies. Knowledgebase consists of articles, product documentation, and videos outlining best practices on installing, configuring, and using Red Hat products. In addition, you can search for solutions to known issues, each providing concise root cause descriptions and remedial steps.

To access knowledgebase from the Customer Portal homepage, select Knowledge from the main navigation. Under Red Hat Knowledge Center, you will see two types of knowledgebase - solutions and articles. Selecting either Knowledgebase Solutions or Knowledgebase Articles will narrow your search results to those content types.

From the search page, you can filter results further by product or content type. You can also sort results by most relevant, newest first, or oldest first.

Some knowledgebase search results will require a log-in to view. Others are available without authentication.

When you view a solution or article as a logged-in user, you can upvote the content if it was helpful to you. You can also comment with questions or your own contributions to the solution. If you're interested in the content, you can choose to get notified if/when it is updated.

Troubleshooting with AI-driven enhancement

There is a specific troubleshooting tool available within the Red Hat Support ecosystem that uses OpenShift AI to re-rank search results to deliver the most accurate and relevant answers available.

To access the tool from the Customer Portal homepage, select Support from the main navigation. Under Red Hat Support, select Troubleshoot. Fill in the prompts on the Summarize page to see AI-supported results. You can also upload reports for the tool to analyze. If there are more results available, select the See more options button at the bottom of the page. There you will see Red Hat recommended results by category.

Customer Portal Labs

Customer Portal labs are applications developed by Red Hat engineers to help you improve performance, troubleshoot issues, identify security problems, and optimize configuration.

To access labs from the Customer Portal homepage, select Support. Under Top Resources, select Customer Portal Labs.

Labs can be sorted by category (configuration, deployment, security, troubleshoot) or by product. You can also search for a lab by name or description.
