Topic
An update for convert2rhel is now available for supported conversions of Alma, CentOS, Oracle, and Rocky Linux 8 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
Description
The convert2rhel package provides the Convert2RHEL utility, which performs
operating system conversion. During the conversion process, Convert2RHEL replaces all RPM packages from the original Linux distribution with their RHEL version.
Enhancement(s):
- Update package handling check to properly report removed packages (RHELC-1270)
- convert2rhel downloads multiple subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates causing package conflict (RHELC-1246)
- Remove the "Skipping the check of repositories" message (RHELC-1242)
- Reword excluded pkgs removal message (RHELC-1241)
- Identify highest status in json report (RHELC-1193)
- During rollback, make sure an error does not cause all changes to fail (RHELC-1154)
- Change Action results so that no information is given in SUCCESS results (RHELC-1098)
- UX: Move inhibitors to the end of the stdout/log (RHELC-1096)
- Areas where ask_to_continue were removed should have results set with OVERRIDABLE (RHELC-1089)
- Remove the check_needed_repos_availability function (RHELC-1017)
- Rollback to initial state of package files (RHELC-855)
Bug Fix(es):
- Running pre-conversion analysis on a system with yum-plugin-local installed leads to broken rollback and unusable system (RHELC-1272)
- subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates installation fails on CentOS 8.5/Alma 8.6/8.8/Rocky 8.6/8.8 (RHELC-1252)
- LIST_THIRD_PARTY_PACKAGES fails on u':v8-devel-9.4.146.26-1.16.18.1.3.el7.x86_64' (RHELC-1225)
- Race condition when deleting a temporary directory (RHELC-1160)
- convert2rhel fails with a backtrace in _bad_kernel_package_signature() constantly (RHELC-1117)
- "No packages containing kernel modules available" when not enough RAM or disk space (RHELC-895)
