An update for convert2rhel is now available for supported conversions of CentOS Linux and Oracle Linux 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The convert2rhel package provides the Convert2RHEL utility, which performs operating system conversion. During the conversion process, Convert2RHEL replaces all RPM packages from the original Linux distribution with their RHEL version.

Enhancement(s):

  • Add a progress indicator to the yum/dnf transaction handler (RHELC-951)
  • Environment variable to disable RHSM telemetry (RHELC-950)
  • User to acknowledge RHSM telemetry (RHELC-949)
  • Clean yum cache of disabled repos (RHELC-956)
  • Allow overriding the kmod inhibitor (RHELC-955)
  • Make sure both org and activation key is passed (RHELC-954)
  • Move RHSM rollback task title to always print the message (RHELC-946)
  • Hide username and organization from logs and breadcrumbs (RHELC-945)
  • Man/help page to mention config file location (RHELC-948)
  • Make TASK log message consistently present tense (RHELC-944)

Bug Fix(es):

  • convert2rhel fails with unable to add a new UEFI bootloader entry for RHEL (BZ#2125408)
  • convert2rhel fails with "ValueError: need more than 1 value to unpack" (BZ#2151424)
  • Language environment variable fails with different locale (RHELC-942)
  • Fix the conversion when the lang env var is set (RHELC-953)
  • Unbootable system - initramfs not created (RHELC-952)
  • debug log msgs to have a DEBUG prefix instead of FILE (RHELC-947)
