Accessibility - Accessibility Conformance Reports

Summary

Accessibility conformance ensures that our software products are usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. It involves adhering to established accessibility standards and guidelines that make digital content and tools accessible to a wider audience, regardless of physical, sensory, cognitive, or technological limitations.

Our Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) show how we align with internationally recognized standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which provide a comprehensive framework for making web content more accessible by focusing on four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. The guidelines are structured into different levels of conformance: A (minimum), AA (mid-range), and AAA (highest).

Accessibility standards that incorporate WCAG include Section 508 in the United States. Section 508 is a U.S. federal law that requires federal agencies to ensure that their electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. Originally part of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508 mandates that all federal websites, software, and digital tools be accessible. In 2018, the U.S. government revised Section 508 to align with WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards.
