Red Hat Edge Manager Life Cycle Policy

Overview

Red Hat provides a published product life cycle for Red Hat Edge Manager in order for customers and partners to effectively plan, deploy, and support their infrastructure. The life cycle for a major or minor release of Red Hat Edge Manager is divided into two primary phases: the Full Support Phase and the Maintenance Support Phase. Red Hat strives to provide transparency when possible, and some exceptions may occur.

All released errata will remain accessible to active subscribers across the entire life cycle.

Full Support Phase

During the Full Support Phase, Red Hat provides comprehensive support to customers by releasing Critical and Important Security Advisories (RHSAs), Urgent and Selected High Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs), and other appropriate errata advisories as they become available. This phase includes the delivery of new or improved hardware enablement, select enhanced software functionality, and qualified patches through minor releases.

Minor releases are cumulative and contain previously released updates. The focus of minor releases during this phase is on resolving medium or higher priority defects. Customers are expected to upgrade to the most current supported minor version to receive security and bug fixes. The Full Support Phase lasts for a specified period or until the GA of the superseding minor release.

Maintenance Support Phase

During the Maintenance Support Phase, Red Hat provides continued support by releasing Critical and Important impact Security Advisories (RHSAs) and selected Urgent Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs) as they become available. Other errata advisories may also be delivered as appropriate. The phase focuses on resolving defects of medium or higher priority, and maintenance releases are cumulative, including previously released updates. While new functionality and hardware enablement are not planned, select enhanced software and hardware functionality may be provided at Red Hat's discretion. The Maintenance Support Phase lasts for a specified period after the Full Support Phase, and during this phase, qualified security patches and mission-critical bug-fix patches are released.
