Issue

Where do I find support for my Intel Processor?

Resolution

Processors and hardware in general are considered third-party components. Red Hat supports Red Hat products when deployed on certified hardware, hypervisors or providers. Using Red Hat software in an unsupported configuration introduces significant risk to customer environments. Customers should avoid this scenario.

Many Red Hat Partners have certified their hardware with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. As a result, mutual customers have the confidence of knowing these certified hardware systems are supported by Red Hat when running Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

The system model that has been certified is considered to provide all of the features from the complete collection of standard and optional components unless explicitly excluded by or from the specification. Processors are only one component of a system and are certified as part of this overall system certification. The processors that are supported by the system certification are those that are listed in the system's specification which is found at the vendor website.

Red Hat has made functional improvements to the Red Hat Hardware Compatibility List search engine to enable searching the certified hardware components for processors based on their Product Collection or their Code Name as seen in the Intel Product Specification.
