Original content:

RHUI 5.3 increases the sock_read_timeout parameter to allow repositories containing very large packages to synchronize in certain locations. However, it has been observed that this change alone may not be sufficient. In addition, large packages in repositories using the on-demand sync policy can not be downloaded by RHUI client VMs due to a timeout either, and the download continues above 100%. Red Hat aims to fully resolve this issue in RHUI 5.3.1 or 5.4 at the latest.

This solution article contains instructions on how to patch RHUA nodes running version 5.3.

Note: RHUI 5.x may contain a solution different from the one presented here, which is intended as a hotfix.

Environment

RHUI 5 in regions where connection stalling, high latency, or limited network capacity is common.
