  • Java-based software running on newer versions of OpenShift Container Platform can experience OOM kills if developed with JDK versions that are not cgroups v2 compatible.

  • Red Hat Middleware software would need to be upgraded to supported and cgroups v2 compatible versions before upgrading cgroups from v1 to v2 in the underlying OpenShift cluster (i.e. before upgrading to OCP 4.19+).
