Elasticsearch has Yellow Status as replicas are Unassigned in RHOCP 4

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Elasticsearch alert fires continuously

    ElasticsearchClusterNotHealthy - Cluster elasticsearch health status has been YELLOW for at least 20m. Some shard replicas are not allocated.

  • After switching OSSM to integrate with user-workload monitoring, the Elasticsearch turns YELLOW as replicas for indices are UNASSIGNED.

  • Elasticsearch indices are in YELLOW as indices replicas are UNASSIGNED and when reviewed the Elasticsearch allocation policy is observed the message:

    "replica allocations are forbidden due to cluster setting [cluster.routing.allocation.enable=primaries]"}
