RHCS5 - OSD does not stay up after long time being down: "map says i am stopped by admin. shutting down"

Issue

Due to maintenance task we took an OSD down for period of time, after starting the OSD again, the OSD will not stay up and shut itself down with:

<osdmap epoch X> handle_osd_map epochs [<osdmap epoch X+1>,<osdmap epoch X+40>] i have <osdmap epoch X>, src has [<src_osd_first_commited>, <src_osd_last_commited>]
<osdmap epoch X+40> map says i am stopped by admin. shutting down.
