Issue

  • Mounting XFS filesystem created on RHEL 9 fails on RHEL 8.6 (and older) and RHEL 7 with the following messages:
XFS (sdb): Superblock has unknown read-only compatible features (0xc) enabled.
XFS (sdb): Attempted to mount read-only compatible filesystem read-write.
XFS (sdb): Filesystem can only be safely mounted read only.
XFS (sdb): SB validate failed with error -22.
  • Mounting also fails in read-only mode.
