Openshift VMWare new machines stuck in provisioned state in RHOCP 4

Issue

  • Openshift nodes are not coming up

  • Machines are stuck in provisioned state and not initiating new nodes due to corrupted template file in VMWare

  • Unable to scale up machine and getting below mentioned error in machine-api controller logs:

    task: task-116274, state: running, description-id: VirtualMachine.clone
ipixxx-5dxx-worker-xxx error: task task-116274 has not finished
