Data Corruption observed for Red Hat Gluster Storage Volume with sharding enabled

Issue

  • RHHI-V VM's not able to boot
  • Filesystem errors detected in the log with potentially missing files.
  • File gets corrupted on certain brick operations like add-brick, remove-brick when sharding is enabled -> those operations of expanding or shrinking RHV Storage domain, which are usually very rare.

Environment

  • Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure for Virtualization (RHHI-V) 1.8.3 or earlier
  • Red Hat Gluster Storage (RHGS)
