OpenShift web console: edit Application action overwrites Environment values on save

Issue

  • Sometimes, when the YAML file of an object is edited on the OpenShift web interface, what was configured previously on the tab Environment gets removed.

  • The problem can happen in multiple cases. For example ConfigMaps or PVCs attached to Deployments can be removed after clicking on Save on the YAML editor.

  • The issue happens intermittently in many cases.

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.6.
