Are sendmmsg() and recvmmsg() supported syscalls in RHEL?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • MRG Realtime Kernel

Issue

  • Does Red Hat Enterprise Linux implements sendmmsg() and recvmmsg() system call?
  • More recently, upstream has added sendmmsg(). Is this included in RHEL?

Resolution

  • RHEL 5.7 include the recvmmsg() system call.
  • RHEL 5 does not and will not provide the sendmmsg() system call.
  • sendmmsg() support is included in RHEL 6 from kernel-2.6.32-220.el6 and MRG-R kernel-rt-3.0.9-rt26.45.el6rt.
