Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

We have a disperse gluster volume called "disperse-volume" exported via CIFS / SAMBA

A) If we try to access this share from one of the gluster nodes with the smbclient

smbclient //gluster_server.example.com/disperse-volume -U windows_workgroup\\windows_user_name

we get this error when just trying to list the content:

 smb: \> ls
     NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER listing \*

B) If we try to access this share from a Windows 10 client, we get a pop up window with the error
invalid parameter
or
The parameter is incorrect
