How to enable or disable auditd in grub parameter in Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Issue

  • Booting the system with kernel command line option audit=on or audit=off is not working in RHEL 6 and RHEL 7. But it works on RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 server.
  • Also is the audit 1 or audit 0 in kernel cmdline option supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux?
