McAfee 'OAS Manager' process uses 100% CPU when Fuse is running on a Linux system

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

When the McAfee anti-virus product is installed on a Linux system, the OAS Manager process uses 100% CPU for the whole time that Fuse is running. Fuse itself may show relatively low resource usage at the same time.

Environment

  • Red Hat Fuse
    • 6.x
    • 7.x
  • McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux

Most likely the problem will arise with other McAfee products for Linux.
