/etc/mke2fs.conf does not support enable_periodic_fsck option

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • /etc/mke2fs.conf does not support setting the enable_periodic_fsck option so that its not possible to disable mount aging and counting.

  • While we can run tunefs to disable it, /etc/mke2fs.conf should support tuneable filesystem options so that they are part of a default set of mkfs options.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
    • e2fsprogs prior to 1.41.12-20.el6
