Issue

  • While creating a KVM Virtual Guest inside the Virtual Machine Manager interface and receive the following error:
Warning KVM is not available, this may mean the kvm package is not installed or the kvm kernel modules are not loaded.
  • Issue occurs even when kvm and libvirtd packages are installed and the required modules are active.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
