  • Why are gdm commands for stop and restart missing from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 ? These were present in  Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 .

     /usr/sbin/gdm-restart
 /usr/sbin/gdm-safe-restart
 /usr/sbin/gdm-stop

  • What happened to the gdm stop/start commands and is there an alternate method for cleanly restarting gdm?
