VMWare snapshot converted to a .core file fails to open with the crash utility
Issue

A VMWare snapshot converted to a .core file using "vmss2core-Linux64" utility fails to open even after a successful conversion.

The following message can be observed :
log: zero-size memory allocation! (called from 4e23f6)
- Manual retrace of the converted core shows following error message :
$ crash vmss.core /cores/retrace/repos/kernel/x86_64/usr/lib/debug/lib/modules/3.10.0-862.11.6.el7.x86_64/vmlinux

Usage:
crash [OPTION]... NAMELIST MEMORY-IMAGE[@ADDRESS] (dumpfile form)
crash [OPTION]... [NAMELIST] (live system form)
Enter "crash -h" for details.
- If the .core is opened in the minimal mode, the results are same.
Environment
- Guest OS hosted on VMWare
- Observed on RHEL 7.5 kernels
- The .core should be converted from .vmsn and .vmem files
