Issue

  • The migration from one hypervisor (VMWare ESX for example) to Hyper-V of a Red Hat virtual machine leads to a can't boot issue with a system stuck in dracut or unable to find the root files system with this kind of message:
/dev/mapper/rhel-root does not exist
end_request: I/O error
blk_update_request: I/O
dracut:/#
