[CNS|OCS] Container Native Storage logs on Openshift nodes are rotated rarely or not at all

Issue

  • Using Container Native Storage (CNS) on OpenShift (OCP), log files keep growing and are rotated rarely or not at all in the following locations:
    • /var/log/glusterfs/
    • /var/log/glusterfs/gluster-block/
    • /var/log/glusterfs/bricks/
    • /var/lib/origin/openshift.local.volumes/plugins/kubernetes.io/glusterfs/<vol-name>/*.log
  • OpenShift collects GB's of Gluster plugin logs
  • Why are gluster logs not rotated or are growing so fast
