Addition of jitterentropy entropy source for rng-tools

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • rngd.service fails as does not have enough entropy, predominantly in virtualized environment.
  • Add package haveged to Red Hat repository so we don't have to use EPEL
  • When a Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS is running within a virtualized environment (VMWare, etc.) physical devices normally present to generate entropy are not available. This leaves the OS starved for entropy and results in a very small random pool for applications to use, causing application process that require entropy to function to stall.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • Virtualized environment
