On RHEV-H systems, commands hang when accessing '/proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc'

Issue

  • We are finding issues related to /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc in RHEV servers.

  • Whenever we run df or sysctl -a, they hang without displaying any output.

  • ls -l /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc also hangs.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) 7.2 20160105.2
