How do I update to the first rpm version that resolves a given advisory?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

When using yum to update by a specific advisory, is it normal for that advisory to pull in packages from other advisories? For example, running

# yum update --advisory RHSA-2012:1061

also contained a kernel patch which made the command above also update to the latest kernel version instead of the one specified in the advisory RHSA-2012:1061.
