team or bond or VLAN interfaces lose connectivity when managed by NetworkManager
Issue
- team or bond or VLAN interfaces lose connectivity when managed by NetworkManager
- When a team or bond is configured with a VLAN device, and IPv4 DHCP or IPv6 Router Solicitation fails, the VLAN child device is deleted and not created again, and the team/bond slaves are constantly reset leading to intermittent network connectivity loss.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
NetworkManager
- Link aggregation using teaming or bonding
- VLAN interface on top of team or bond
- IPv4 address configuration set to "Automatic"
- IPv6 address configuration set to "Automatic"
- No DHCP server available to bond/team/VLAN interface
- No IPv6 Router Advertisement to bond/team/VLAN interface
