Unable to download repository metadata (repomd.xml) from Satellite server

Issue

  • I'm kickstarting using RHEL6u6 boot CD and found some yum issue during %post kickstart.
  • Somehow yum refuse to download the repomd.xml for the custom channels.
  • However it download the repomd for respository in yum.repos.d just fine.
  • I'd checked the repomd.xml for all the custom channels, they are OK.
  • Yum works on normal OS and does not complain on missing repomd, so the satellite is fine.

  • Error message

    # yum list update
Loaded plugins: product-id, rhnplugin, security, subscription-manager
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: <channel-label>. Please verify its path and try again

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • Red Hat Satellite 5.4.1
