Updated 2014-02-19T13:17:54+00:00

Issue

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 EUS and newer
  • Red Hat Software Collections 1.0

Resolution

Access to the Red Hat Software Collections channel on Red Hat Network (RHN) is already included with many Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions. However, there are a few products that require a special request for access to the Red Hat Software Collections channel.

Red Hat Software Collections is already available for immediate use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 to customers and partners with the following Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Site Subscription (all support levels)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Suite
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Support (all support levels)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Workstation (all support levels)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Not-for-resale (NFR) subscriptions for qualifying Partners
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Promotional Bundle (all support levels)

No action is required for customers with the above subscriptions.

Customers with the following Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions must initiate a special request for access to Red Hat Software Collections:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, Premium
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, Standard
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation, Premium
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation, Standard
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Server
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Workstation

To request access to these channels, log into Red Hat Network and initiate a request at https://www.redhat.com/GetRedHatSoftwareCollections.html. You will be prompted to complete a short form as part of a one-time process.

Note that access to Red Hat Software Collections can only be requested by the account Organization Administrator, or "Org Admin." If you are not an Org Admin, please forward your request to your Org Admin for processing. If you don't know who your Org Admin is, file a ticket with Red Hat Customer Service (https://access.redhat.com/customerservice) and supply your Red Hat Network user name and account number. Once a request is submitted, the Red Hat Software Collections channel can be added to all valid and current RHEL entitlements for your account.

Red Hat Software Collections is unavailable with the following Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, Self-Support
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation, Self-Support

NOTE: If customers use Red Hat Network Satellite, please first ensure the channels are available, and then update your Satellite certificate.
