CVE-2026-92081

Description

A flaw was found in fastify. When a route registers a response trailer and is served over HTTP/2, fastify incorrectly sets the 'Transfer-Encoding: chunked' header. This leads to an unhandled exception in Node.js, causing the server process to crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). A remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger this flaw with a single HTTP/2 request to any route using trailers, repeatedly crashing the server.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
