CVE-2026-76230
Description
A flaw was found in Renovate. This vulnerability, a command injection, exists within the npm manager due to improper sanitization of user-provided package names. An attacker with write access to a repository can exploit this by crafting malicious Renovate configuration files. This allows them to execute arbitrary commands on the machine running Renovate, leading to potential system compromise.

Attackers could execute unauthorized operating system commands, which could then be used to disable the product, or read and modify data for which the attacker does not have permissions to access directly. Since the targeted application is directly executing the commands instead of the attacker, any malicious activities may appear to come from the application or the application's owner.
