CVE-2026-73651

Description

A flaw was found in TypeORM. TypeORM's migration:generate command, used for generating database migrations, embeds database schema metadata into JavaScript or TypeScript template literals. This process incorrectly escapes backticks but fails to escape interpolation, creating a vulnerability. An attacker with write access to the database schema can exploit this by injecting a malicious payload into column COMMENT or DEFAULT metadata. When the generated migration is subsequently loaded, the JavaScript engine evaluates this payload, leading to arbitrary code execution.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
