CVE-2026-64832
Description
A flaw was found in FFmpeg, specifically within the NVIDIA NVDEC hardware decoder. A remote attacker could exploit this double-free vulnerability by providing a specially crafted video file. This can lead to memory corruption, potentially allowing for arbitrary code execution or causing a denial of service in applications using FFmpeg's NVDEC hardware-accelerated decoding.
Statement
This double-free vulnerability in FFmpeg's NVDEC hardware decoder can lead to arbitrary code execution when processing a specially crafted video file. The flaw affects Red Hat products that utilize FFmpeg with NVDEC hardware acceleration, including components within Community Projects and Red Hat OpenShift AI. Exploitation requires user interaction to process the malicious media, but successful attacks could result in significant system compromise.
