CVE-2026-64499
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ti-ads1119 Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) driver. This vulnerability occurs during the buffer pre-enable process, where a Power Management (PM) reference is not properly released if an I2C communication error occurs. This oversight can lead to a resource leak, potentially causing the affected device to remain active indefinitely and consume system resources, which could result in a denial of service.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Resource Consumption (Other); DoS: Resource Consumption (Memory); DoS: Resource Consumption (CPU)
An attacker that can influence the allocation of resources that are not properly released could deplete the available resource pool and prevent all other processes from accessing the same type of resource. Frequently-affected resources include memory, CPU, disk space, power or battery, etc.
