CVE-2026-60108
Description
A flaw was found in Zeek. An uncontrolled memory consumption vulnerability in the FTP analyzer allows unauthenticated remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This occurs when a crafted FTP control session with a large ADAT control line is sent, exploiting the NVT_Analyzer component's lack of a maximum line length check. The component continuously doubles its internal buffer without bounds during base64 decoding, leading to process termination of the Zeek sensor.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Resource Consumption (CPU); DoS: Resource Consumption (Memory); DoS: Resource Consumption (Other)
When allocating resources without limits, an attacker could prevent other systems, applications, or processes from accessing the same type of resource. It can be easy for an attacker to consume many resources by rapidly making many requests or causing larger resources to be used than is needed.
