CVE-2026-45022
Description
A flaw was found in go-git, an extensible Git implementation library. This vulnerability arises from go-git's differing interpretation of malformed Git objects compared to upstream Git. When processing commit or tag objects with ambiguous or malformed headers, go-git may sign or verify a commit payload that is not byte-for-byte equivalent to the original object. This can lead to a valid signature appearing for a commit whose displayed or effective metadata differs from the object that was intended to be signed, potentially allowing for integrity bypass.
