CVE-2026-43363
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. When resuming from suspend to RAM (s2ram), the system's firmware may incorrectly re-enable x2apic mode, even if the kernel had previously disabled it. This mismatch causes the kernel to operate with an incompatible interface, leading to system hangs and a Denial of Service.

This Moderate flaw in the Linux kernel can lead to a system hang, resulting in a denial of service. This occurs on x86 systems when resuming from suspend-to-RAM (s2ram) if the firmware re-enables x2apic mode while the kernel expects it to remain disabled. This mismatch in APIC mode configuration can render the system unresponsive.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
