CVE-2026-101797
Description
A flaw was found in the mysqldump component of MySQL. This issue may allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of MySQL Server depending on the vulnerability details. Refer to the Oracle CPU advisory for component-specific impact.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because successful exploitation could lead to complete compromise of system confidentiality, integrity, and availability, though it is constrained by high attack complexity and the necessity of user interaction. In Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, mysqldump is typically invoked by administrators or scheduled backup jobs rather than operating as an unauthenticated listening service. Consequently, exploitation requires targeting an administrative session connecting to an untrusted or malicious database endpoint, limiting general remote exposure.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
