CVE-2026-101754
Description
A flaw was found in MySQL client programs. A remote attacker with high privileges and network access can exploit this vulnerability to compromise the system. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to cause the database server to hang or repeatedly crash, resulting in a complete Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
Red Hat Product Security has evaluated this vulnerability as Moderate because successful exploitation requires an attacker to possess elevated database credentials and overcome high attack complexity to disrupt service availability, preventing widespread unauthenticated exploitation. Although triggering the flaw can cause the database daemon to crash or become unresponsive, typical Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments restrict database network access and avoid exposing management accounts to untrusted endpoints. Consequently, the blast radius is largely confined to environments where administrative permissions are already compromised.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
