CVE-2025-35998
Description
Missing protection mechanism for alternate hardware interface in the Intel® Quick Assist Technology for some Intel® Platforms within Ring 0: Kernel may allow an escalation of privilege. System software adversary with a privileged user combined with a low complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present with special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (none) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts.
Statement
Actual for the Intel Xeon 6 with E-cores. Firmware or microcode update could be required (using BIOS or using other utilities by administrator). The bug accessible only to privileged users (like administrator can try to trigger it), so the impact is limited (means PR:H for the CVSS).
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
