CVE-2023-53992

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's cfg80211 wireless subsystem. When handling OCB (Outside the Context of a BSS) mode, the kernel may attempt to leave an OCB network even when not joined, which could cause driver confusion or unexpected behavior. This is a logic error in state management.

Statement

This is a minor logic fix in the WiFi cfg80211 subsystem for OCB mode, which is used in vehicular networking (802.11p/DSRC). The issue does not cause a crash but could lead to confusing driver behavior. Most systems do not use OCB mode, significantly limiting the impact.
