libXcursor before 1.1.15 has various integer overflows that could lead to heap buffer overflows when processing malicious cursors, e.g., with programs like GIMP. It is also possible that an attack vector exists against the related code in cursor/xcursor.c in Wayland through 1.14.0.

Statement

This issue affects the versions of libXcursor as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is now in Extended Life Cycle phase of the support and maintenance life cycle. This issue is not currently planned to be addressed in future updates. This issue affects the versions of libXcursor as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 is now in Production 3 Phase of the support and maintenance life cycle.
