CVE-2026-98732

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Intel Bluetooth driver. When processing hardware error events, the driver logs event data as a string without verifying that the received payload is properly null-terminated. A physically proximate attacker or compromised Bluetooth device could exploit this flaw by sending malformed error events to trigger a buffer over-read. This issue primarily leads to information disclosure of adjacent kernel memory into system logs, and could potentially result in a Denial of Service (DoS) if the system crashes.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
