CVE-2026-98465
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) subsystem for the RISC-V architecture. Due to missing synchronization between interrupt controller device operations and virtual CPU (vCPU) execution, a local user with access to the KVM interface can trigger a race condition during concurrent processor migration. This flaw allows attribute read or write operations to target stale interrupt files, potentially leading to unauthorized data disclosure or modification of another virtual processor's interrupt state.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
