CVE-2026-92573
Description
A flaw was found in Apache Qpid Broker-J. An authenticated attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending specially crafted compressed data to the message broker. Because the shared decompression mechanism does not enforce limits on decompressed output size during Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) message processing and management rendering, processing this input can exhaust system memory and disrupt service availability.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having a Moderate impact because exploitation requires authenticated producer credentials and only disrupts broker availability without exposing or altering data. In Red Hat environments deploying Qpid Broker-J, such as Red Hat JBoss Fuse, the uncontrolled resource consumption can only be triggered by clients that are already authorized to publish messages or interact with the management endpoints. Unauthenticated remote attackers cannot trigger this condition.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
