CVE-2026-91335
Description
A flaw was found in OpenJDK's Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT). A remote attacker with low privileges could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a user to run untrusted code within a sandboxed environment. Successful exploitation allows unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data, leading to information disclosure.
Statement
This vulnerability is evaluated as having a Low severity impact because exploitation requires complex prerequisites, including user interaction and authenticated access to an untrusted execution environment. Standard deployments across Red Hat Enterprise Linux and enterprise runtimes run only trusted server-side workloads rather than sandboxed client applications. Consequently, default production systems do not expose this attack vector, restricting the risk of unauthorized data disclosure to non-standard client configurations.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Access Control
Technical Impact: Gain Privileges or Assume Identity; Bypass Protection Mechanism
The exploitation of a weakness in low-privileged areas of the software can be leveraged to reach higher-privileged areas without having to overcome any additional obstacles, extending the scope of the damage to higher-privileged users..
