CVE-2026-90231
Description
A flaw was found in AppArmor, a Linux kernel security module. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to bypass security confinement. The issue arises from an incorrect application of unprivileged transition restrictions on tasks already confined by a stack, enabling an escape if two transitions through an unconfined profile are executed.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Confidentiality,Integrity,Availability,Access Control
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Read Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands; Gain Privileges or Assume Identity; Bypass Protection Mechanism; Other
A common weakness that can exist in such protection schemes is that access controls or policies are not granular enough, which renders the control policy too broad, because it allows accesses from unauthorized agents to security-sensitive assets. This condition allows agents beyond trusted agents to access assets and could lead to a loss of functionality or the ability to set up the device securely. This further results in security risks from leaked, sensitive, key material to modification of device configuration.
